Cherie Blair barred from representing local company in Malaysia’s court
The Federal Court order against Cherie Blair, who is a prominent London lawyer, upheld a similar ruling on June 7 by the High Court, and leaves her no further avenues for appeal.
Blair was seeking to represent Fawziah Holdings Sdn. Bhd. in a civil case that touches on transparency in government dealings with private companies. Blair flew to Malaysia on Tuesday to attend the hearing on her appeal on Wednesday before leaving the country the same night.
