A video was posted on an Islamic Web site Monday by al-Qaida in Iraq showing a man purported to have been an abducted Iraqi contractor being shot dead.
The video shows a man with his hands bound behind his back wearing a short-sleeved shirt and dark pants lying on his side on what appeared to be a dirt road.
A person standing off-camera shoots the victim, identified by his Iraqi Planning Ministry identity card and gun license as Mohammed Mahmoud Alwan, twice in the head with an automatic weapon, the AP reports.
After the execution, the camera panned to a sign reading in Arabic: "God's verdict has been carried out against a contractor working for the Crusaders." A.M.
