Russia and Germany are developing an agreement on transit of military cargoes via Russia, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov told journalists during his visit to Belgium.
"We have informed the German side on our proposals," the minister said.
According to the minister, the issue of guarding these cargoes during railway transportation is not a problem, "but the transit procedure must be carried out in line with the Russian legislation," he stressed.
"The legal aspect, that is full customs control, customs dues and insurance procedures, is important for us," Ivanov said.
The minister added that he was going to hold a meeting with his German counterpart after the Russia-NATO Council session. The transit issue may be on the agenda.
