Chief Of Russian General Staff Arrives In Tashkent

General of the Armies Anatoly Kvashnin, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Force, has arrived in Tashkent on a one-day working visit. He intends to discuss with his Uzbek colleagues prospects for military and technical cooperation between the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan. President Islam Karimov of Uzbekistan is expected to receive Kvashnin, and at a meeting the sides are likely to discuss the developments in Afghanistan, security in Central Asia, the fight against terrorism and religious extremism.
