On Wednesday, the first Russian president Boris Yeltsin spoke over the phone with Estonian ex-president Lennart Meri, according to Meri's advisor Toomas Hiio. Hiio said that the two former presidents had recalled their meetings in Moscow, New York, Strasbourg, and other places. Yeltsin said that he remained active, often met with governors, various officials, and foreign guests. The ex-presidents arranged to meet in Moscow next April to discuss the future of Estonia, Russia, Europe, and the world as a whole. Meri and Yeltsin also expressed their confidence that Russian-Estonian relations will further develop in a positive way.
