Russia, Rumania Forge Out Draft Fundamental Political Accord

Alexander Avdeev, Russian first deputy foreign minister, says another several rounds of negotiations to elaborate a draft fundamental political agreement between Russia and Rumania may lie ahead. Avdeev said this to reporters in Bucharest on Tuesday. He leads a delegation of the Russian Foreign Ministry at negotiations on the preparation of a draft fundamental political agreement. These talks were held in the Rumanian capital on November 26-27. According to Avdeev, the Russian and Rumanian sides "are doing routine work coordinating mutually acceptable wording of the draft fundamental political agreement between the two countries." The sides manifest "goodwill and normal speed. Work proceeds in line with the project prepared by the Russian side," said the Russian diplomat. The holding of several more rounds of talks is quite natural because it will be a document which will shape bilateral relations for a long time to come, Avdeev said.
