The value of Polish imports from Russia is around $4 billion, while its exports do not exceed $800 million, Polish Prime Minister Leszek Miller said after his meeting with Sergei Mironov, Federation Council speaker. Miller said he hopes to discuss this issue with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He said that Polish businessmen have to promote their goods and services in a more active manner, if they want to a have a bigger stake in the Russian market, including the investment market. He believes, however, that governmental support is necessary to create a more favourable climate. According to Miller, he will discuss other issues with Vladimir Putin, including "the situation in Europe". "I would like to stress that the Polish government backs to the hilt the strategy the Russian President is pursuing," the Polish Premier said.
