Russian Defence Minister On Negotiations With British Defence Secretary

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov has voiced his gratitude to the British side for the initiative and active role in deepening the Russia-NATO relations. During a press conference in London, the Russian Minister stated that during the negotiations with the British Defence Secretary they had put a particular stress to reinforcing cooperation between Russia and the North Atlantic Alliance with respect to the new format of relations. At the same time, Ivanov stressed that the sides had "practically achieved consensus" on the aforementioned issues and on those relating to new threats which had been also discussed during the negotiations.
