Iranian Foreign Minister: Russia Plays Important Role in Central Asia And in Caucasus

Russia plays an important role in the Central Asia region and in the Caucasus in the sphere of security provision as well as in political, economic and cultural spheres. This was disclosed by Iranian Foreign Minister Khamal Kharazzi to a RIA Novosti correspondent.

According to him, "the return of stability, security and peace to Tajikistan is an illustrative example of Russo-Iranian cooperation in the sphere of security provision in the region".

This is an obvious example of Russo-Iranian successful cooperation in the region, Kharazzi stressed.

He expressed hope that the dialogue and exchange of opinions between the two countries on the issues of regional security would enhance the role of mutual cooperation.
