Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis in Kyiv after their visit to Irpin, French BFM TV channel reported on Thursday
“Volodymyr Zelensky met Emmanuel Macron shortly after noon at the Mariinsky Palace. He and the leaders of Germany, Italy and Romania will discuss issues in person for the first time since the start of the Russian invasion on February 24,” the channel notes.
Macron, Scholz and Draghi arrived in Kyiv on Thursday morning to discuss assistance to Ukraine and the prospects for its entry into the EU.
The Kremlin hopes that leaders in Kyiv will not focus on pumping Ukraine with weapons, which will prolong the suffering of people, but will encourage Volodymyr Zelensky to take a realistic look at the state of affairs, said Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the President of the Russian Federation.
