US and Japan keep pressing North Korea

The US, Japanese, and South Korean authorities held phone talks with each other and plan to jointly strive for a hard influence on North Korea in response to a recent launch of the North Korean missile.

According to the Japanese and South Korean mass media, the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and President of South Korea Park Geun-hye had a conversation with each other as well as with the US President Barack Obama.

Some days ago North Korea launched a missile Kwangmyongsong with a satellite of the same name off the Yellow Sea. Some concern that it could have been an intercontinental ballistic missile test.

The UN currently considers possible strengthening of sanctions against North Korea, while the US and its allies plan to undertake other measures of influence onto Pyongyang to make it reject its nuclear and military programs.

During the phone talks, leaders of the US, Japan, and South Korea agreed to cooperate with each other, so that sanctions against Pyongyang are adopted as soon as possible and are more effective.

Pravda.Ru reported that Japan claimed yesterday about its intention to down a ballistic missile, which North Korea plans to launch on the night of 8 February.
