The US legal system faces the biggest forensic scandal related to hair and bite-mark analysis.
National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers claimed that the FBI Laboratory's microscopic hair comparison unit fabricated forensic matches in order to meet the prosecutors' demands.
Under the investigation conducted together with the Innocence Project, the case appears in 95 % of the 268 trials.
Among the given suspects, 32 people were sentenced to death.
Four accused persons have been already justified.
Peter Neufeld, co-founder of the Innocence Project, claimed, that "the FBI's three-decade use of microscopic hair analysis to incriminate defendants was a complete disaster."
