Israel's new government views the upcoming visit of the U.S. president as an opportunity "to show our gratitude to the American people," said Benjamin Netanyahu before swearing in for the third time.
"Obama's visit will provide an opportunity to thank him," said the prime minister, adding that Israel faced an "enormous threat" in the region. In addition, Netanyahu said that he was committed to "guarantee future to the Jewish people and future to the State of Israel."
The White House, however, does not have high hopes for Barack Obama's three-day visit to Israel that starts on Wednesday, the Guardian said. New Secretary of State, John Kerry, will accompany the U.S. president on the trip.
