Toni to leave Fiorentina

Italy forward Luca Toni has reportedly decided to leave Fiorentina after this season.

Toni, Europe's top scorer last season with 31 goals, wants to double his salary and sign with one of Italy's biggest clubs - most likely Juventus - according to Monday's Gazzetta dello Sport.

Toni currently earns EUR1.5 million per season (US$2 million) and has a contract with Fiorentina through 2009.

He has already told his teammates that he will leave and put his house in Florence up for sale, the Gazzetta said.

The 29-year-old Toni has scored 15 goals in Serie A this season, second only to Francesco Totti's 18 for AS Roma, reports AP.

Toni gained attention last summer when he came close to leaving Fiorentina for Inter Milan, which reportedly offered him EUR5 million (US$6.66 million) per season.
