Former WBO featherweight champion Scott Harrison was in police custody Thursday after his arrest on drug charges.
The Scottish fighter, who spent five weeks in a Spanish jail and is due to return to Malaga on Friday to face charges of assault and car theft, was arrested in Glasgow on Tuesday along with an unidentified 35-year-old man.
Police did not release details of the drug allegations.
Harrison was scheduled to appear in a Glasgow court on Thursday.
"He was supposed to be keeping a low profile, because the Spanish case was coming up," Harrison's manager, Barry Hughes, told the Daily Record. "We are trying our hardest to get Scott released so he can get to Spain and make the trial, reports AP.
"If he doesn't there is a possibility of losing the bail money."
Harrison, who has a history of alcohol-related problems, was stripped of his world title in December after he had to pull out of a defense against Nicky Cook on medical advice. With a record of 25-2-2, he is now banned from fighting by the British Boxing Board of Control.
