Leeza Gibbons eliminated `Dancing With the Stars'

TV star Leeza Gibbons said that she wanted to continue "dancing With the Stars."

"What if we demand a recount," she asked Tuesday when she learned that she and her professional partner, Tony Dovolani, would be eliminated from the ABC television dance competition.

Still, the perennially perky Gibbons kept a smile on her face as she thanked her three children and Dovolani for their support.

"I believe just showing up for your life anytime makes you a winner," Gibbons said, adding that her fellow competitors have "nerves of steel and hearts of gold."

The pair earned just 16 points out of 30 for their paso doble, which judges called "dull" and "totally lackluster."

Gibbons also placed in the bottom two during last week's results show.

"This experience has been such a life lesson for me," she said. "I will definitely miss wearing two sets of eyelashes and red body glitter."

Tuesday's program featured two songs by country rockers Big & Rich. During a performance of their hit "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy," season two's dancing champ Drew Lachey made a surprise appearance wearing tight jeans and a black cowboy hat.

His advice for this season's dancers?

"Listen to what the judges say," he said. "They know what they're talking about."

Each week, judges' scores are combined with viewer votes to determine which couple will be eliminated.

Paulina Porizkova and Shandi Finnessey have already been eliminated. The remaining celebrity dancers are Billy Ray Cyrus, Clyde Drexler, Ian Ziering, Joey Fatone, Laila Ali, John Ratzenberger, Heather Mills and Apolo Anton Ohno. Each will perform the samba or rumba on Monday's show.
