Georgian president hates Russian underwear

Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili demands Russia should withdraw its troops from an army base from the Black Sea coast. According to the Georgian president, Russian soldiers dry their underwear in the streets, confusing local residents.

Mikhail Saakashvili said that the sight of washed underpants blowing in the wind undermines the prestige of the Russian army. "They publicly dry their underwear, and the soldiers of the once-great army are lazing around on armored vehicles. I do not think it is good for Russia. I should demand the Russian soldiers should leave the range ground in Gonio before spring, or we will make them leave instead," the Georgian president said in an interview.

The Russian military base is deployed not far from the above-mentioned range ground. It is one of the two bases in Georgia. Russia and Georgia have been conducting negotiations to withdraw the troops from the base for three years. Georgia suggests the period of three years, Moscow puts forward eleven years. The period of eight years is possible as a compromise.

The Georgian president also said the Russian troops should not conduct military exercises during the peak of the holiday season, Itar-Tass reports. "Russian military men cause inconveniences for tens of thousands of holiday-makers with their military exercises on the Gonio range ground," the president stated.
