Russia counts greatly on national team's chief coach Valery Gazayev

The Russian government hopes that TsSKA coach Valery Gazayev, who was appointed the chief coach of the Russian national team on Monday, "will be more successful than his predecessor /recently resigned Oleg Romantsev/ and the Russian team will show better results on international fields." This statement was made by Alexei Gorshkov, the head of the Governmental Information Department.

According to Gorshkov, the appointment of the national team's coach is within the scope of responsibility of experts responsible for the team's preparation.

"If these experts have chosen Gazayev and consider him a worthy candidate, then this implies both trust and responsibility for the result," the official stressed.

As to the governmental position, Gorshkov said that the cabinet's primary objective is to create advantageous conditions for the development of sports, football in particular, in Russia.
