Meeting Of Heads Of Anti-Tuberculosis Departments Opened In St. Petersburg

A regional meeting of the heads of anti-tuberculosis departments of the North-West, Polar areas and Central Russia was opened on Tuesday in St. Petersburg. Participants in meeting will discuss the situation with the TB disease in the regions, map out directions of the work of the research institute of phthisiopulmonology. A scientific and practical conference entitled Children and Teenagers' TB Today will be affiliated to the meeting. Issues to be raised at the conference will be TB diseased children in the Russian Federation, diagnostics and treatment, topical issues of TB control among children and teenagers from socially unadapted groups of population. This was reported by spokesmen for the research institute of phthisiopulmonology of the Russian Ministry of Health which is hosting the meeting. The interregional association Healthcare System in the North-West will submit to the meeting a draft program of TB control in those territories.
