Kursk Fragments Yield No Clues On Examination

Seven fragments of the Kursk nuclear submarine wreck collected on the disaster site lately have been transported to Severomorsk, Northern Russia. They are to be sent to St. Petersburg from there for civil researchers to probe into. Mikhail Motsak, a senior commanding officer with the Russian Northern Fleet, said that visual examination of the fragments yielded no "sensational information" on the causes of the disaster. He added that the examination of the seabed on site had failed to provide any clues either. The admiral said 40 meters of seabed around the submarine's bow was scoured.
