President Of Russia: Consideration Of Citizens' Complaints Is A Most Important Function Of Constitutional Court

One of the most important functions of the Constitutional Court is to consider the complaints of citizens, said Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday in the Marble Hall of the Kremlin during the session devoted to the 10th anniversary of the Constitutional Court. According to him, the Constitutional Court takes part in creating and strengthening the law-based state. When substantiating its decisions the Court in many aspects influences the development of law in the country, said the president. He also pointed out that the Constitutional Court does not replace other power structures and their terms of reference. The Constitutional Court occupied a definite and firm place in the system of state power, Putin stressed. On the one hand, the Court is independent from them, and on the other hand, it can influence by its decisions their activity, the Russian president said. He also pointed to the fact that people often appeal precisely to this Court when serious economic, social and political conflicts arise.
