Russian Father Christmas Arrives In Moscow In November

Everyone likes merry and good-natured Russian Father Christmas. We can't imagine a New Year without him. The international forum "The Russian Father Christmas" is to keep the old tradition. The forum will be held in Moscow on November 12-18, the organizers told a news conference Thursday. The aim of the forum is to keep the national traditions of celebrating the New Year in Russia. The organizers believe this problem may be solved by means of increasing the amount of creative agencies organizing the New Year celebrations and by supporting the Russian Christmas industry sector. According to the forum organizers, at the moment only 6-8 per cent of Christmas goods in Russia are produced by native companies, the rest are imported from abroad. Several independent events will be held as a part of the international meeting: an exhibition of Christmas products, a festival of programmes of New Year games, a seminar on New Year celebrations and even a conference of Father Christamses. Russian and foreign trading firms, creative associations, art schools and everyone who feels he is a Father Christmas at heart can participate in the forum.
