Acid attack in China

The incident happened in the northern province of Shanxi on 20th November, but the Chinese authorities, anxious to present the country with an image of safety, sometimes hide stories and release them days, or even weeks, later, or sometimes do not reveal them at all.

In this case, a 13-year-old schoolboy threw sulphuric acid in the face of a classmate with whom he had fought earlier in the day. The attack with sulphuric acid stolen from the school laboratory took place at night, while the victim slept in a dormitory. The victim is likely to be disfigured for the rest of his life.

It is also revealed that a total of 20 boys were burned by the acid, and that 13 had to be taken to hospital, although it is not clear whether the acid was thrown at them or if they came into contact with it while trying to help the first victim.
