Indonesia intends to invite Russian tennis star Anna Kurnikova to a tournament due in the autumn on the island of Bali, in order to attract foreign tourists who left one of Southeast Asia's most famous resorts after the October 12th terrorist attack that killed about 200 people there.
The participation of Kurnikova, who has been named among the world's 50 most beautiful women, will help to restore Bali's tourist fame and attract first of all Australian vacationers, as Anna has been their favorite for several years, representatives of Indonesian tourist branch believe.
The tournament's organizers have already held talks with Kurnikova's agents and are now awaiting the tennis player's decision. If she accepts the invitation, the Bali authorities intend to organize a grand ball with the participation of tennis stars, fashion shows and fireworks during the tournament.
Kurnikova's participation will be a fantastic achievement for organizers and will definitely attract large numbers of fans and tourists, a representative of the Women's Tennis Association, Pam Whytcross, told journalists.
