Moscow hosting Russia-Germany exposition "Court Hunting"

The Court Hunting exposition has been opened in the State Museum of History thanks to the Gazprom company and the Wintershall AG company. The exposition will be opened till February 2003.

A RIA Novosti correspondent reports that this is the first time when such a grandiose exposition with a great variety of exhibits pertaining to different epochs has been held. More than 600 works of arts from major Russian and German museums will be displayed. The rarities of the XVI-XX centuries will give an insight into the peculiar world of hunting, especially its traditions, things, fashions and aesthetics.

Among the most valuable exhibits are marvellously decorated arms of Russian and Western European masters who lived in the XVII-XIX centuries, portraits of Russian aristocracy, water-colours representing hunting scenes, old books, documents, trophies, costumes, tapestries and hunting accessories.

The exposition is a continuation of cultural exchanges between the old gas partners, Gazprom and Wintershall AG. Since 1993, the companies have jointly staged more than 10 exhibitions which became remarkable events in the cultural life of the two countries.
