Woman finds pack of diamonds worth $10,000 in elevator

A woman living in Russia's Krasnoyarsk incidentally found a pack of diamonds worth 300,000 rubles ($10,000). The woman was coming home late in the evening, when she noticed a pack with little glittering stones inside on the floor of the elevator.

The woman, named only as Anna P., made the unusual finding on March 25th. She picked up the pack with stones in the elevator and had a closer look at them at home. She immediately realized that a handful of stones were precious.

The next morning, the woman went to a jeweler, who confirmed that the stones were diamonds. Anna decided not to keep the finding, so she went to police.

"In two marked packs, there were 476 stones of different size and weight. Our experts confirmed that all the stones were diamonds, although they are very small diamonds. The market value of each stone in the packs is nearly 600 rubles ($20). The total cost of the finding is approximately 300,000 rubles ($10,000)," officials told Life News.

The police are now trying to find the owner of the precious stones. The woman hopes that the stones will find their owner, whereas the owner will perhaps reward her for her honesty.
