Porno can make you go blind

It's been confirmed by the new study published in the Psychonomic Bulletin and Review by US psychologists. The research discovered that people (both male and female) when shown erotic or gory images could not process what they were seeing immediately afterwards.

This is due to the brain producing what is termed emotion-induced blindness. This would therefor back up the claim that a driver did not see the pedestrian if they had just seen an emotionally traumatic image immediately prior to the accident, or a motorists could be affected by the use of sexually explicit billboards.

Researchers at the University in Nashville and Yale University in Connecticut showed hundreds of images to volunteers.

Most of them were "neutral" pictures but a few depicted scenes of violence or sexually provocative scenes were also included, the researchers found that people failed to detect visual images that appeared one-fifth of a second after emotional images, whereas they can detect those images with little problem after neutral images.

They also found that some people were more prone to this disability, FemaleFirst.co.uk reports.
