Russian first lady attends a meeting of Minor Academy of Russian Literature

The Russian president's wife Lyudmila Putin attended a meeting of the Minor Academy of Russian Literature that took place in the resort city of Anapa on the Black Sea.

300 winners and laureates of Russian languistic, literature and journalistic Olympiads in Krasnodar Territory and school students from all over the Southern Federal District came to Premyera culture and rehabilitation centre in Anapa to spend the whole month, or a shift entitled MARS, there.

The adolescents are engaging in linguistic and literature research work, are taking part in language contests, holding discussions and staging their favourite plays.

The first lady was acquainted with the work of the young journalists' club and was presented the first issue of the Kids newspaper.

Lyudmila Putin also attended a master-class by Yury Grigorovich, the artistic director of the ballet company of Krasnodar's Premiyera association. The master presented the first lady with a booklet making an inscription on it about the theatre. A little ballet dancer gave the president's wife her pointes of the smallest size (32).

Besides, Ms Putin attended a master-class for young actors, saw artware made by students of arts schools. When Ms Putin came up to young chess players they asked if she could play chess. Lyudmila Putin said she knew the rules, but could not play and preferred chequers and backgammon.

Then the first lady went to a concert of the winners of the Morning Star television contest.
