The Central Election Commission officially registered Irina Khakamada and Sergey Glaziev as official candidates in the March presidential elections. The CEC's Lyudmilla Demyanchenko said that Khakamada submitted over 2.45 million signatures of which 4.45% were considered falsified. According to Russian election laws, 25% of a candidate's total submitted signatures may be regarded as false. Demyanchenko also said Khakamada received a total USD 59600 in deposits to her official campaign bank account. Of that amount, USD 7700 was spent on collecting signatures, while the remaining money was spent on other campaign-related activities.
The CEC's Elvira Yermakov said that Glaziev submitted a total of 2.22 million voter signatures. 14.34% were considered falsified. She added that Glaziev received USD 70300 in total deposits for his official campaign bank account. USD 69000 was deposited from Glaziev's own funds. So far he has spent a total of USD 42900. Meanwhile, the Life Party's Sergey Mironov, Communist Party's Nikolai Kharitonov and LDPR's Oleg Malyshkin were also registered to run as candidates in the presidential elections on March 14.
