MICEX experts noted that growth resumed on the MICEX stock market on October 13. As a result the MICEX index closed at 567.38 points, which was a 3.04-percent gain against the closing on the previous working day October 10. RAO UES jumped 7.7 percent, Norilsk Nickel increased by 5.3 percent, Sberbank stepped up 0.9 percent, Surgutneftegas grew by 4.1 percent, YUKOS and LUKoil were up 0.9 percent and 1.5 percent respectively. The trade volume amounted to about 10.7bn rubles ($360m), which was 35 percent lower than the average daily trade volume last week.
The situation on the market was influenced by external and domestic factors. The overnight credit rate dropped to 1.7 percent. Balances at correspondent accounts became larger. World stock markets advanced amid positive corporate news from US companies. World oil prices remained high yesterday.
