The weighted average euro exchange rate has totaled RUR33.25, moving up RUR0.16 against the official euro rate for today. The ruble has been declining against the euro for the third day in a row starting on August 27. Since then the euro has added about RUR0.3.
Commercial bank dealers attribute these developments to a gradual recovery of the European currency against the dollar on foreign exchanges. The euro now costs $1.089, up from yesterday's $1,085. The euro keeps erasing earlier losses. As reported earlier, on August 15 to 26 the euro lost almost RUR1.4, i.e. around 4 percent.
