The annual growth rate of software products on the Russian market is 15-20%, said regional manager of Borland in Russia and the CIS Kirill Rannev at the seminar entitled 'Solutions for the accelerated life cycle of developing software products' which took place as part of the third international forum of software developers in St. Petersburg. He said that market growth occurs 'as a result of a good understanding by customers of the importance of the development and effectiveness of software programming.'
At the same time, Rannev said that the computer software market has a very high rate of failure.' He added that only 50% of projects are actually successful. 'Often times the software developer and the customer are speaking different languages which prevents the effective solution of the problem at hand,' said Rannev.
