Russia has set itself a task to produce 700 billion cubic metres of gas and 450-520 million tons of oil by 2020.
These parameters are stipulated in the draft energy strategy of Russia, Russian Energy Minister Igor Yusufov said.
On Tuesday, the energy minister spoke at a session of the International Energy Agency, MEA, underway in Paris and presented the draft strategy to participants of the session.
According to Yusufov, there are plans to increase the oil refining volumes to more than 200 million tons.
According to forecasts, 400-450 million tons of coal will be produced by 2020. The total production of electricity should grow to 1,300-1,350 billion KWT/hr, while the specific volume of energy produced at nuclear power plants should increase from 15 percent in 2000 to 25 percent in 2020.
