The main foreign investors in the non-financial sector of the Pskov Region's economy last year were the US, Italy and Latvia. According to the regional statistics committee, the US invested USD 1,451,200 in the economy, which was 36.9% of total investment; Italy invested USD 798,100 (20.3%) and Latvia invested USD 447,000 (11.3%). The total volume of foreign investment in the region was USD 3,936,800.
50.9% this investment, worth USD 2,003,500 was in the town of Pskov, with 36.6% (USD 1,439,200) invested in Velikie Luki. During the first half of 2002, Pskov received only 7.6% of total foreign investment, whereas Velikie Luki received 81%.
