There should be no hurry with recognizing a new government "that may appear in Iraq", said director of the Institute of the USA and Canada Sergei Rogov at a press conference in Moscow on Friday.
"The recognition of an occupation regime, like those in Germany and Japan after World War II is out of the question," he believes. "There should be no hurry either with recognizing a coalition government that can appear onthe basis of certain opposition forces," the expert said. He believes it is necessary to see the neighbouring Arab countries' reaction and whether the UN will recognize this government.
"If we make haste, we will lose the respect acquired among Arab countries in recent years," Rogov emphasized. "Besides, it is a dubious affair from the moral point of view," he concluded.
