More than 455 thousand tons of humanitarian aid cargo in the amount of Euro 160 million from 40 donor states were provided last year to 88 regions of the Russian Federation. According to the information made available last Friday in the Department of the information policy of Russia's Ministry of labor, the biggest humanitarian projects implemented in 2000 included supplies of more than 140 thousand tons of foodstuffs in the amount of Euro 98.7 million. The supplies were made by the US Administration within the project called Foodstuffs For Progress. Besides, Japan's government supplied medical equipment to Russia in the amount of Euro 10 million. In order to implement social projects, the manufactured goods in the amount of more than Rub 424 million (1 dollar = 28.8 rubles) were also sent to the institutions and organizations under supervision of the subjects of the Russian Federation and Russia's Ministry of Labor.
