Ukrainian President Arrives To Novgorod Region To Visit Father's Grave

The plane with Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma on board landed at a military airdrome near Velikiy Novgorod (center of the Novgorod region situated to the east of the Leningrad region). The Novgorod region administration informed RIA Novosti that Leonid Kuchma, upon landing, headed for the military garrison in the village of Novoselitsy where his father, senior sergeant Daniil Kuchma,had died of wounds at an army hospital in the years of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The Ukrainian President brought a memorial board with him that he intends to set at a former hospital cemetery, where a warrior memorial is situated now.
