NTV staff to be only paid their salaries over Jordan’s signature

The newly appointed management of Russia’s NTV nationwide television network will take up their duties in 4-5 days’ time, Boris Jordan, the network’s newly appointed director general has told a news conference in Moscow. According to Mr. Jordan, who is an American national, he has already received permission from the Federal Migration Service and is now entitled to work in Moscow. He has got a seal and other necessary attributes to run the company’s financial affairs. In particular, salaries to the staff will now be only given over his personal signature. He called on NTV journalists not to leave and keep on perform their duties. Mr. Jordan also wrote a letter to former director general Yevgeni Kiselyov asking the latter “not to destroy NTV.” He also recommended Mr. Kiselyov to stay and run the Itogi programme.
