The Public Prosecutor, Russia's Prosecutor General in the North Caucasus Maria Semisynova, called for the capital punishment of Chechen Ramzes Gaichayev accused of murdering Russian residents of Chervlennaya settlement. Debates have come to a close during the lawsuit, which is taking place in Pyatigorsk. Gaichayev, 25, is facing charges of genocide with regard to Russian population of Chervlennaya, ten murders and other grave crimes. Gaichayev's accomplice Rustam Khalidov is accused of rape and robbery assaults, while the prosecutor demands that he be sentenced only to ten years of imprisonment. The court is likely to announce its ruling on April 18.
