A GANG EXTORTED MONEY FROM PARATROOPERS RETURNING FROM CHECHNYA

Contractor servicemen demobilized from Chechnya are known to more and more often become targets of criminal attacks. Mobsters are attracted by the money the paratroopers get before going home. Sometimes, the boys are followed from Chechnya to their homes where they are robbed. In Novosibirsk, the local militia managed to neutralize a gang involved in extorting money from the servicemen of 7th air-force division . There, several Daghestans who had retired from the division decided to get engaged in the racket of their former colleagues. They received information of the servicemen’s salaries from a certain ensign. It has turned out that a contractor soldier gets some Rbs30,000 a month when staying in a “hot spot” plus payment for individual missions. Al in all, the racket failed to come off this time, and those arrested are facing up to 15 years in prison, IMA-press reports.
