RUSSIA’S FOREIGN MINISTRY: BELORUSSIAN ELECTIONS RECOGNIZED BY MAJORITY OF INTERNATIONAL OBSERVERS

Moscow is of the opinion that comments over holding the elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus and “individual irregularities which have taken place cannot call into question the elections’ general results,” and the “absolute majority of independent international observers, including EC parliamentarians, have concluded that these were free and fair elections”, a statement of Russian Foreign Ministry’s representative says. It is noteworthy that OCSE and US State Department have expressed their unwillingness to recognize the Belorussian elections’ results.
