Lukoil Strives To Enter New Oil Markets

At a press conference on Thursday Lukoil's vice-president Djevan Cheloyants stated that the Russian oil company Lukoil would participate in a tender to develop an oil deposit in Algeria. In addition to that he reported that Lukoil's delegation would visit Colombia at the end of the current year or in the beginning of the next one. In the course of the visit they would consider the issue of Lukoil's presence in the Colombian oil market. He also indicated that Lukoil intended to operate in the oil markets of other countries, in particular, in Venezuela. While speaking of the Lukoil's activity in Iraq the vice-president indicated that the company carried out all works related to Western Qurna within the framework of UN sanctions which at the moment existed in relation to this country. He indicated that immediately after the sanctions were lifted Lukoil would continue implementation of operations to develop this deposit.
