Putin Approves Mironov Nominated To Lead Russian Senate

The council of the parliamentary group Federation nominated Sergei Mironov for speakership of the Federation Council, Russia's upper parliamentary house. Federal President Vladimir Putin approves the nomination, reports Vyacheslav Khizhnyakov, his envoy to the house. Mr. Mironov is city councillor of St. Petersburg.
