Russian Defence Minister Meets Foreign Minsiter Of Afghan Provisional Government In Dushanbe

If the Afghan defence ministry comes up with any requests of military deliveries or training of Afghan military personnel on Russian territory, this country will consider them with utter attention, said Russian Defence Minister Sergey Ivanov after meeting Friday Foreign Minister Abdulla of the Afghan provisional government. Sergey Ivanov also noted that what Afghanistan needs above all now is humanitarian aid. "Russia intends to give priority to helping in rehabilitation of peaceful life in Afghanistan," he added. The defence minister pointed out that Moscow supports and welcomes the Bonn accords on forming provisional bodies of power in Afghanistan. "Still prior to this dialogue we voted for creating a widely-representative government reflecting the interests of all ethnic groups living in the country. We have no grounds to change this position," said Sergey Ivanov.
