Sixth Federal Exhibition-Fair "Russian Flax" to Open in Vologda Tuesday

The sixth federal exhibition-fair Russian Flax is opening at the Vologda Regional business and cultural centre Russian House on Tuesday.

Representatives of seventeen regions of Russia and eight foreign countries will participate in the exhibition-fair. The list of the 130 participants in the forum includes such well-known enterprises as Melenkovsky linen combine (the Vladimir Region), ArtLyon (the Kirov Region), associations Tverskoi Lyon (Tver Flax) and Chernigovsky Lyon - Chernigov Flax (Ukraine), Yakovlevskaya Manufaktura (the Ivanovo Region), BALTIKS EAST (Latvia) and Vologodsky Tekstil (Vologda Textile). The foremost producers will display advanced technologies in the sphere of production of machine attachments for enterprises of the linen industry, flax fibre and flaxen products, as well as accessories for enterprises - looms and spinning looms, accessories and fittings.

Vice-Premier of the government and Russian Agriculture Minister Alexei Gordeyev and governor of the Vologda Region Vyacheslav Pozgalev will participate in the opening of the exhibition-fair.

An All-Russia conference of the heads and high-ranking officials of the agro-industrial complex will be held within the bounds of the exhibition-fair on Tuesday to deal with the problems of increasing the output and processing of fibre crops. The programme of the exhibition-fair includes holding a competition of collections of fibres, clothes and footwear and accessories Flax - into Goods of Russia-2003.

International scientific-practical conference Innovation Attractiveness of the Flax Complex of Russia and an exhibition of farm machines will be held on Wednesday.
