Russian PM: Visa Problems between Russia and Poland Not Unsolvable

'Visa problems between Russia and Poland are not unsolvable,' believes Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov. In an interview with Polish public television station TVP1 he stated that 'Russia will attempt to simplify the visa regime.' However, he added that 'if Poland introduces visas for Russians, then Russia will do the same for Poles.'

In reply to a question about Russia's attitude to Poland's entry into the EU, Kasyanov said that 'Russia has accepted this fact.' As for Russia's attitude towards the letter written by the heads of eight EU candidate countries in support of the US, the Russian Prime Minister said that 'Russia does not intend to get involved in the internal politics of the EU or Poland.' The Prime Minister also said that 'Russia and Poland have considerably less problems than five years ago.'
