Dollar rate continues declining

Early at this morning's US dollar session, the weighed average exchange rate amounted to 31.64 RUR/USD, sagging another RUR0.02 against the previous level. The US dollar decline at the UTS has been taking place for five business days in a row since February 10. However, by the end of this week, ruble's strengthening against the dollar has slowed down. On February 12, the weighted average exchange rate tumbled RUR0.07, while on February 13, it went down RUR0.05; today, it decreased by RUR0.02 only.

Commercial bank dealers link this to the absence of objective factors for a considerable ruble strengthening. In their opinion, the downward trend regarding the dollar rate can at least switch to the stability of the US dollar rate within a rather long period of time in the near future, or even turn upwards.
