Aeroflot Air Carrier Counts on USD 125 Million Net Profits in 2003

The Board of Directors of the Aeroflot has approved the air company's financial plan for the year 2003. According to Aeroflot's press service, net profits for the year are expected to amount to just below USD 125 million. The Board of Directors also approved the plan of the company's flight routes, that of general development for the period until 2010, and the date of the next annual stockholders' meeting, April 26, 2003. The roster of stockholders will be finalised as of March 7, 2003. The approved programme is supposed to help increase the throughput capacity of Sheremetievo, the company's base airport.

The Aeroflot-Russian Airlines company was chartered in 1994. Its statutory capital of USD 34.72 million is divided into common shares with a face value of USD 0.3125 each. The federal government owns 51.17% of the company. In 2001, Aeroflot's net profits amounted to about USD 41.1 million.
