Prices for UAZ automobiles to grow

Beginning September 1, 2002, the UAZ automobile producer is to raise pricesfor the majority of its models by 1-2 percent on average, which is byRUR2,000-3,000 (about $63.34-95.01). As the press service of the companyreported, the change in the pricing policy is triggered by an acuteincrease in tariffs for resources, energy and railway transportation, whichbrought about an increase in prices for spare parts and, eventually, forautomobiles. However, prices for some UAZ automobiles remained at the samelevel. For example, the UAZ-3160/3162 family, some Farmer models andminibuses will not go up.According to the new pricelist, UAZ-31512 will cost RUR105,028 (about$3,326), UAZ-31514 RUR127,292 (about $4,031), and UAZ-31519 RUR129,609 (about $4,105). The price for the UAZ drop-side truck will amount toRUR132,961 (about $4,211); the UAZ ambulance will cost RUR136,313 (about$4,317)..
