Investigation Into Enron

Formal investigation was opened into Enron, its affiliates and two other famous energy companies, El Paso Electric and Avista Corp. These companies are being accused in several mortal sins: price fixing during the 2000-2001, moving power out of California and selling it to the state at higher prices, creating phantom congestion on the California electricity grid to boost prices. But the day of reckoning is drawing near and it seems that these companies will be fined and stripped of their federal licenses to trade wholesale electricity.
